Links for you

Hello.
It has been almost 3 months since we last posted and I promise we have been keeping busy. Here are the top three.

1-Matthew did a tour of Brazil and Australia and is currently completing 2 quarters of school.
2-Leah finished her final semester of school and is now a Master of Science (in Communications)!
3-We bought a house!!! (well, Leah negotiated while Matthew toured the world, but at the end of the day it is OURS)

So to keep things interesting we will keep posting pictures for the next while - but for today,
Here is a link to Matthew's tours of the house: http://picasaweb.google.com/matthew.letts/HouseTours?feat=email#
He is processing all the projects while he talks - but don't worry he really is excited...

Here is a link to our newly created wedding website: http://www.ewedding.com/sites/MLLetts0823/
It is not all finished yet but it will have lots of pictures as well as information for wedding logistics.

Okay - new load of boxes has made it to the car - off to shuttle them to the house - we hope to post more updates soon now that Leah is out of school.

NEW TOYS!!

Wow, the last month has just flown by. After the car went CRUSH Leah was given a Dodge Charger to drive - oh how incredibly funny. The best part was the base in the car and the fact that the lights looked like they were frowning. You expected a 300 pound muscle man to walk out of the car, but out walked Leah with her big blue bag - it cracked us up. After about a week of relearning how to walk and both Matthew and Leah catching colds, we were finally ready to get back to doing our homework - but it was not to be - Leah's car had been totaled. :( So the next weekend was spent car shopping. We spent the week doing research and then FINALLY we went out and bought a car - sparing you the details of car shopping, the exhausting end result is Leah's new pride and joy (that Matthew keeps trying to steal) a 2009 RAV4 in Black Forest. (The car is unofficially named "Leah's Car" but officially named Akela - the Mama Wolf in the Jungle book - fitting for a car that is huge, forest colored and can tackle little dirt mounds.) We tried very hard to let go of some of the luxuries of the totaled Honda, but in the end Leah got her power leather seats, leather steering wheel, moon roof AND her V6 engine. The car also has a push button start (it knows when we are near by and lights up) - it is MUCH smarter than we are. Although it is MUCH larger than the Honda, it is shorter giving it an amazing turning radius and fitting in the driveway even better. Here is a tour of the new car - it is a little over the top in its "impromptuness" but you can tell we are excited.

While the car news is very exciting, it should also be noted that Leah was at the WSCA Communication conference where she presented a paper-a unique experience to share all of her summers research with others in the field. While gone Matthew took Leah's baby out for a drive and bought himself a new toy - a new server (no pictures though). I think after all that excitement things are finally settling down which means that we are now ready to get back to the homework that has been piling up for the last month is finally due for some attention. So off we go to that. If you are really lucky we may post about all of our research sometime in the next few weeks.

BOOM - Crunch

Yesterday the title of the blog was going to be Happy Anniversary however things happen and now we are at Boom Crunch.
We got back from Cincinnati on Tuesday and on Friday we clebrated our 4 year dating anniversary - how exciting.
We got many things done while in cinci - of course the only one we have pictures of is the hair...
Shirley Temple ringletts were loosened and put into and updo.
After sleeping on the updo, and taking outthe pins it still looked good. We love hairspray.... To celebrate our anniversary Matthew booked us reservations at the Portland city grill. On the way home to get ready for our fancy date Leah was spectacularly rear ended while on the highway. We are waiting to see what all the insurance says. In the meantime, dealing with moving the car and such we have to reschedule our date. Oh well, instead we celebrated our anniversarry with pizza. Greese is great for celebrating and calming VERY shaky nerves.

HOORAY!!!

Quick update!
The bag has arrived! The driver pulled into the driveway at 12:59, which technically is before 1, just like the airline promised...

Cincinnati

Well we made it.
Apparently 100 flights were cancelled out of Chicago when Matthew and I were trying to connect to get to Ohio. Our flight was canceled, however very painlessly we were able to get a new flight. This was done because Matthew is amazing!! (I try not to say this too often because his ego does not need many boosts, but truely this was GREAT.) We stood in line waiting for a stressed and harrassed looking United agent while Matthew called the number on his fancy Premier exec card and talked to a guy in India. By the time we got to our turn he had already rebooked us. All we had to do was confirm the reservation and have them print out new boarding passes for us.

The best part was we got switched from flying to Columbus to flying to cincinnati for the price of flying in to Columbus. - 45 minute car ride compared to 2 and a half hours - and with all that crazyness we were only 2 hours later than planned. Too bad we forgot we had luggage transfered to Cincinnati - it made it to Clumbus though. Matthew has been wearing the same clothing for 2 days now, however my Imma and Elana chipped in and I have been smelling QUITE clean and fresh. It is now almost 1 AM and we have been sitting up awake waiting for it to arrive (we were promised it would be here by 1) We will see.

Beyond the fabulous part of seeing people, our visit to Cincinnati has been primarily wedding business. Here is our agenda:

Monday
11:00-Meet with Rabbi
12:00-Meet with synagogue gift shop and plan registry
1:00-lunch and if time check out the Hotel we are booking the blocks of rooms.
2:00-hair appointment

Tuesday
10:30 - Florist
11:30 - Band/DJ
1:00 -Tasting at Manor house ( we have been warned that there is one plate for all of us opefully there is time for lunch before the tasting)
2:30 - meet with Andrea, our wedding planner, to go over all our meetings.

Wednesday - Fly home.
Thank you much to Leah's Parents for puting us up and running us on our errands for a few days.

In between all that we have other plans and details to do. My Imma has already shown us more Ketubah sketches and Laurie showed us Chupah designs before we left. Caitlin even reviewed the program for us and said it made sense!!! Lots of progress since school begins on Thursday.

Tonight in Cincinnati it snowed, so to liven up the blog here are pictures of Matthew and I on our quest to the Nutcracker in Portland's snow at the end of 2008 - we took public transit and everything.

12:45 and no clothes. Tomorrow - we may need to do laundry..... Good night.
