While the car news is very exciting, it should also be noted that Leah was at the WSCA Communication conference where she presented a paper-a unique experience to share all of her summers research with others in the field. While gone Matthew took Leah's baby out for a drive and bought himself a new toy - a new server (no pictures though). I think after all that excitement things are finally settling down which means that we are now ready to get back to the homework that has been piling up for the last month is finally due for some attention. So off we go to that. If you are really lucky we may post about all of our research sometime in the next few weeks.

NEW TOYS!!
Wow, the last month has just flown by. After the car went CRUSH Leah was given a Dodge Charger to drive - oh how incredibly funny. The best part was the base in the car and the fact that the lights looked like they were frowning. You expected a 300 pound muscle man to walk out of the car, but out walked Leah with her big blue bag - it cracked us up.
After about a week of relearning how to walk and both Matthew and Leah catching colds, we were finally ready to get back to doing our homework - but it was not to be - Leah's car had been totaled. :( So the next weekend was spent car shopping. We spent the week doing research and then FINALLY we went out and bought a car - sparing you the details of car shopping, the exhausting end result is Leah's new pride and joy (that Matthew keeps trying to steal) a 2009 RAV4 in Black Forest. (The car is unofficially named "Leah's Car" but officially named Akela - the Mama Wolf in the Jungle book - fitting for a car that is huge, forest colored and can tackle little dirt mounds.)
We tried very hard to let go of some of the luxuries of the totaled Honda, but in the end Leah got her power leather seats, leather steering wheel, moon roof AND her V6 engine. The car also has a push button start (it knows when we are near by and lights up) - it is MUCH smarter than we are. Although it is MUCH larger than the Honda, it is shorter giving it an amazing turning radius and fitting in the driveway even better. Here is a tour of the new car - it is a little over the top in its "impromptuness" but you can tell we are excited.
